We draw from the best of early childhood development and education practices to create an atmosphere that encourages and supports the growth and development of the whole child—physical, mental, social-emotional and spiritual. Our experienced staff provides an atmosphere of love and acceptance.
According to research, to best grow and develop, children need a balance of unstructured play time in a prepared and safe environment as well as adult-planned and adult-led activities. Research also confirms that the presentation of concepts and exposure to academic activities must be done in developmentally appropriate ways to be most effective. In addition, we understand that there are multiple learning styles and that each area of development affects other areas of development because the body is inter-connected and inter-dependent. Consequently, a variety of experiences are needed.
We believe that parents are God’s principal vehicle for the training and nurturing of the child. Research shows that parents are, in fact, the most influencing factors in a child’s life.
Calvary Children’s Center seeks to support and strengthen the family unit. Regular contact with the parents will be maintained through monthly newsletters, emails, as-needed parent/teacher conferences, open houses and parent information meetings.
Parent visits are welcome anytime. Volunteers are sometimes needed for field trips. Parents in the preschool program will be invited to provide snacks once a month.
